Introduction
Linea is committed to reducing our environmental footprint and actively contributing to the global fight against climate change. Recognising the urgency of reducing carbon emissions, we have established a clear and actionable Carbon Reduction Plan to achieve net zero by 2030. As of now, Linea has achieved net zero status through active participation in certified carbon offsetting schemes, and we remain focused on reducing emissions at their source to sustain and build on this achievement.
Our Commitment
Linea is committed to:
- Reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across all areas of our operations.
- Continuously improving our processes to minimise environmental impacts.
- Engaging in partnerships that support sustainability and drive innovation in carbon reduction.
Baseline and Current Emissions
Having already achieved net zero through carbon offsetting, our current baseline reflects operational emissions prior to offsetting. Our carbon footprint has been calculated in accordance with the GHG Protocol, covering Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant Scope 3 emissions.
Our Carbon Footprint
We conducted a baseline carbon footprint assessment in 2020, accounting for emissions across three scopes:
- Scope 1: Direct emissions from owned or controlled sources (e.g., company vehicles).
- Scope 2: Indirect emissions from the generation of purchased electricity, heat, and cooling.
- Scope 3: All other indirect emissions, including business travel, employee commuting, procurement, waste management, and supply chain activities.
Baseline Year (2020):
- Scope 1: 6.34 tCO2e
- Scope 2: 2.76 tCO2e
- Scope 3: 10.37 tCO2e
Total Carbon Footprint: 19.47 tCO2e
Current Carbon Emissions:
- Net Zero (offset through certified schemes).
Emission Reduction Targets
Having achieved net zero in 2024, we are committed to maintaining our emissions at net zero and continuously reducing residual emissions. Our ongoing targets include:
- Maintain net zero annually from 2024 onwards by minimising emissions and offsetting any remaining carbon footprint.
- Reduce Scope 3 emissions by a further 50% by 2030 through supply chain engagement and sustainable procurement.
- Continue to procure 100% renewable energy and ensure all offices and remote working environments remain carbon neutral.
- Maintain a low-carbon travel policy to reduce emissions from business travel by at least 40% by 2030.
We aim to reduce absolute emissions by:
- 50% by 2027 from the baseline year.
- 75% by 2030 through operational efficiencies, renewable energy adoption, and sustainable practices
Key Measures for Carbon Reduction
- Energy Efficiency:
- Transitioning to 100% renewable energy sources for all office locations by 2026.
- Implementing energy-saving technologies and practices across operations.
- Sustainable Travel:
- Promoting remote working to reduce travel-related emissions.
- Encouraging the use of low-emission or electric vehicles and public transport.
- Supply Chain Engagement:
- Collaborating with suppliers to align with sustainability objectives.
- Implementing procurement policies that prioritise eco-friendly products and services.
- Waste Reduction:
- Minimising waste generation through digitalisation and responsible consumption.
- Enhancing recycling and reuse initiatives across our sites.
- Carbon Offsetting:
- Continuing to support verified carbon offsetting schemes, such as reforestation, renewable energy projects, and community-based initiatives.
Transitioning towards offset projects with higher environmental and social impact.al stewardship and responsibility.
Governance and Monitoring
We have established a dedicated Sustainability Steering Group to oversee the implementation and progress of our Carbon Reduction Plan. Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and reporting progress against reduction targets annually.
- Reviewing and updating strategies based on emerging technologies and best practices.
- Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and ISO 14001 standards.
Achievements to Date
- Achieved net zero status in 2024 through participation in certified carbon offsetting schemes.
- Transitioned 100% of our workforce to remote working arrangements, cutting travel emissions.
Ongoing Commitment
While achieving net zero is a significant milestone, Linea is committed to maintaining transparency and continuous improvement in our carbon reduction efforts. Through robust action plans and a culture of sustainability, we aim to contribute meaningfully to a low-carbon future.
Together with our clients, suppliers, and stakeholders, we will continue to drive innovation, embed sustainability into all aspects of our business, and inspire change across the industries we serve.
Ongoing & Future Carbon Reduction Projects (2024–2030)
- Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy – Eliminated company-owned fossil fuel vehicles; all company travel is undertaken using electric or hybrid vehicles where unavoidable.
- Remote Working First Approach – Adopted a fully remote/hybrid working model to reduce commuting and office emissions.
- Sustainable Supply Chain Policy – Worked with suppliers to transition to lower-carbon products and services, reducing Scope 3 emissions.
- Paperless Operations – Digitised business processes to eliminate unnecessary paper usage.
- Carbon Offsetting – Offset any residual emissions through certified carbon sequestration projects, including afforestation and renewable energy investments.
- Sustainable Travel Initiative – Encourage and incentivise public transport, cycling, and carpooling among employees and associates.
- Green Procurement Strategy – Continue engaging suppliers to ensure sustainability standards are met, focusing on reducing emissions within our supply chain.
- Investment in Carbon Sequestration – Support further afforestation and carbon removal projects to balance any residual emissions.
- Technology & Digital Optimisation – Implement energy-efficient IT solutions and cloud-based services to reduce digital carbon footprint.
